The medical office building entailed drilling into the pre-cast
pretension concrete beams (while missing the pretension reinforcing)
and bolting a 1 inch steel plate (4'-0" long x 30" wide) to
the underside of the beams at each side of each column. A large
diameter rod was then warped around the column and welded to the steel
plates.

The concrete tilt-up seismic retro-fits included connection of the
concrete tilt-up walls to the roof structure with steel plates and
straps underneath. In a few locations, the roofing was removed and
tension straps were added between the glued laminated beams. |
